Origin
At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico, Dick Fosbury revolutionized the high jump by being the first athlete to jump backwards, surpassing the bar with an innovative technique that marked a before and after in the sport. Until then, athletes attempted the jump face-first, using less effective methods. Thus, Dick Fosbury became a pioneer, symbolizing risk, self-improvement, innovation and success.
Inspired by these values, an entrepreneur from Aragon, in love with Castelldefels, opened in 2012 a seafront restaurant on the Paseo Marítimo, near Port Ginesta, and named it “Fosbury Café”. Since its inception, Fosbury Café has been managed by the Álvarez Alonso family, who have brought enthusiasm, dedication and a deep love for the hospitality industry, a sector in which they already have extensive experience.
Fosbury Café has established itself as an elegant meeting point, with an Ibizan aesthetic in light tones and white wood details that complement its spectacular views of the beach. Its gastronomic proposal is inspired by traditional Mediterranean cuisine, enriched with a touch of fusion that is reflected in every dish and menu.
In March 2024, Fosbury Café took a new direction, orienting its business exclusively to the events and celebrations sector. With the same passion as always, we are now dedicated to creating unique and personalized experiences for our clients. We are an exclusive venue for events that make a difference!
